The 44th season of SNL has a new cast member, Baltimore native Ego Nwodim.
The self-describe “actor, writer, improviser and cupcake connoisseur. Nwodim is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where she received a degree in biology. She was a regular cast member at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater located in Los Angeles, California. It was at the Theater where she performed her first one woman show “Great Black Women… Then There’s Me.” She has also appeared on shows such as “Law and Order True Crime” and “2 Broke Girls”
Nwodim addition to the case comes on the heels of criticism on the diversity of the SNL cast. Nwodim is in a small group of African American women who have been a part of the cast of its long run. The Bright light will make her debut on September 29 with Adam Driver as host and musical act Kanye West.
